Six One Indie Showcase 2026: 16 phenomenal highlights

Six One Indie delivered yet another stacked celebration of everything wacky, weird and wonderful in the indie game scene.

The 2026 Six One Indie Showcase hailed some big milestones and big changes for the organization. For the first time, the event featured a fitting grand total of 61 indie game trailers and announcements, making it the biggest showcase put on by this team. The event also marked the departure of co-founder Mike Towndrow , as he transitions to a new role with Games Done Quick. We narrowed down the dozens of announcements to 16 of our absolute favorites, outlined here. 1. RollerGirl

Vibes based and slice-of-life gamers, rejoice! Pushing Vertices has cooked up some serious nostalgia just for us with the iconic RollerGirl. I’m lucky enough to have hands-on experience with this one, and you can read my demo preview of RollerGirl on the Six One Indie site! Spoiler alert, I loved it and the rollerblading mechanic feels incredible.

2. Aikyam

I have been following Aikyam for some time now. When I first ran across the trailer on Twitter (remember the days when we used to use Twitter?) I was utterly captivated by the colorful, fantastical world and the charismatic egg-shaped characters in this Bollywood-inspired RPG. I’m desperately awaiting news on a release date for this game, but in the meantime, I’ll be excited to check out the new demo on Steam. I played a previously released demo and can say confidently that the music fires on all cylinders and the turn-based combat was engaging and cinematic. This is without a doubt one to watch.

3. Being Food

You have to respect a game dev (who goes by hot_____dog_, no less) living in his car while he travels around taking pictures and drawings and collaging them into a wild little game called Being Food. This immediately caught my eye with its charming, vibrant, and unique art style. Also, it’s a puzzle platformer with music by Spilly Cave? This is what we call Kate bait, my friends. Can’t wait to be fed with Being Food!

4. Treetopians

Many, if not most, city builders are all about the menus. And the skill tree upgrades. Treetopians is first and foremost about the vibes and the sense of accomplishment you get from taking care of all your little tree-dwelling dudes. Fans of casual management sims like Minami Lane and Rusty’s Retirement will feel right at home amid Treetopian’s soft, welcoming color palette and approachable gameplay. If it sounds like I’m speaking from experience, that’s because I got the opportunity to preview the demo (which is live now on Steam) of the game for Six One Indie! It’s time to literally knock some sense into people (or dinosaurs?) with our chancla and this is what we deserve from video games in 2026. An older woman wielding a shoe to kick some ass is a timeless concept, and I’m so happy that Flip Flop Fury has fully embraced that!

6. Forklift Flowerpot: Botanical Investigator

I’m a die hard plant girly, so any game where you get to investigate and cultivate plants will immediately turn my head. Then throw in mention of Outer Wilds-style gameplay and I’m now listening very intently. The announcement of Forklift Flowerpot delivered a promising introduction to the concept, along with intriguing gameplay footage. To top it off, the announcement was also incredibly charming, featuring a quirky message from the developer. I look forward to solving mysteries, botanical sleuthing and season swapping in Forklift Flowerpot.

I’ve always wanted to be a young traveler on a road trip tasked with transporting a magical flower, and I can’t wait to experience that through the dreamy world of Sonnet. Seriously, the medieval fantasy vibes paired with the surreal pixel art is a combination I never knew I needed until now. I think Sonnet will be full of surprises and delights.

8. Cards & Cannons

Moments before the Cards & Cannons announcement played, I said to Kate that I’m ready to enter my Tower Defense era and that I’m very excited to discover new, interesting takes on this classic genre. Flamehead Games looks to be delivering just that, with a roguelite take on strategic tower defense gameplay, where you choose not only where to place your defenses and units, but also the enemy spawners. Just watching the trailer I experienced some of the sweet satisfaction I get from playing a solid TD game, seeing the effects play out of your strategic decisions. I think we’re entering a new chapter for the genre, where the sky’s the limit in terms of creative takes on this tried and true gameplay loop.

9. Ourlands

It’s very rare for me to find a city builder that I’m interested in, but Ourlands promises “no goals, no management, just vibes” so they’ve really got my number here! The cute art style and music is very appealing, and it’s very important to me that things are cute! We don’t have to wait long, because Ourlands releases on June 2nd 2026 and there’s a demo available now!

10. Gang of Frogs

I know what you’re thinking: “another frog game, really?” And to that I say: shut your mouth, I’ll take as many frog games as indie game developers are willing to create. Gang of Frogs is everything I didn’t know I needed in my life. I can’t wait to step into the shoes of these grumpy, sassy, amphibious mavericks along with up to 3 friends for co-op shoot-and-lot chaos. The trailer looks like everything I love from co-op gameplay in the Borderlands franchise, but in a fresh universe with some ribbetting lore thrown in for good measure. Now the only question is… who’s gonna hop to it and squad up with me?

Vale’s Echo is here to meet all of our cozy horror needs! The movement, art style, and vibes remind me a bit of Night in the Woods. I feel pretty confident that this game is going to have moments that pack an emotional punch, while remaining earnest and humorous! I hope I get to play this in the fall, curled up with my blanket and steam deck. There’s a demo available now!

12. Agni: Village of Calamity

Ever since I fell in love with the demo for KARMA: The Dark World, I’ve been looking to Wired Productions to bring us a brand of raw, visceral horror that cuts to the core of the most twisted aspects of modern society. The trailer for Agni: Village of Calamity looks like it will continue that tradition. It was hard to watch but even harder to look away, as scenes flash by of criminal investigator Agni sets off on an unauthorized rescue mission and unearths some of the darkest, most depraved sides of humanity. This game looks like it will test me in many ways, but I want to accompany Agni on her mission.

Sorry team, but I can’t even think about this trailer without getting full body chills and feeling extremely sick to my stomach. AKA I can’t wait to experience this upcoming stop motion psychological horror game from the team that brought us Judero!

14. MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme

There are game announcements that come along that make you go “wow, everything I just heard and saw sounds like it was tailored exactly to my tastes.” And there are game announcements that make you go “I don’t know what the hell I just watched, but I need it in my life.” The Six One Indie trailer for MÖRK BORG Heresy Supreme was in the latter category for me. All I could make out in terms of a high concept was maximalist dark fantasy RPG action, but there was something extremely captivating about the aggressive visuals and soundtrack. I’m not entirely sure what this game has in store for us, but I’m eager and ready to find out.

15. The Marvelous Raincaster of Yell Holler

“Telling a story several ways to pick up clues and work out how it really goes” is not something that would usually sell me on a game, but the music is just so damn good that I genuinely teared up a bit while watching this trailer. The Marvelous Raincaster of Yell Holler is set in the hill country of the Ozarks, which is really appealing to me. I can’t put my finger on it just yet, but I’m already enchanted by this one and I downloaded their previous game, Burley Men At Sea on mobile.

In the age of 21st Century conveniences and Artificial Intelligence, some of the most insidious horrors of the modern world are inconspicuously well-manicured and Instagram-ready. I think there’s a space that needs to be filled, for beautiful horror, which The Florist looks to fit right into. This is a survival horror title set in a town where the flora is lethal and protagonist Jessica has to fight her way to safety and answers. I’m picturing Botany Manor meets Annihilation, and I’m riveted by the concept.
