In Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, developed by Simogo and published by Annapurna Interactive, you have been invited explore an abandoned German hotel by a mysterious (and possibly sinister) host. You must solve the many puzzles laid before you to uncover and unravel the truth of the hotel and your own identity. From word puzzles, to secret codes, astrological patterns, and video game bug reports, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes showcases both classic and innovative puzzle design. Even the non-linear narrative itself requires a puzzle-solving lens to connect the dots.
In episode 30 of No Small Games, Kate and Emily get to the bottom of what is going on in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. You’ll get the perspectives of both puzzle-positive (Emily) and puzzle-averse (Kate) players, as we dig into the core question: did Simogo make this game TOO hard?
